Displacer Beast

Picture of a Displacer Beast

Basic Information:
This monstrous predator takes its name from its ability to displace light so that it appears to be several feet away from its actual location. A displacer beast resembles a sleek great cat covered in blue-black fur. However, its otherworldly origins are clear in its six legs and the two tentacles sprouting from its shoulders, both ending in pads tipped with spiky protrusions. A displacer beast's eyes glow with an awful malevolence that persists even in death. Displacer beasts are large cat-like creatures, sometimes described as panther- or puma-like with six legs and a pair of tentacles 5 feet (1.5 meters) long sprouting from their shoulders. The tentacles end in pads with sharp horny edges, brownish yellow in color. They are covered in a pelt of blue-black fur. They are usually about 9 feet (2.7 meters) long and weigh as much as 500 pounds (230 kilograms), but the occasional mutant can be twice this size. Female displacer beasts are generally smaller in size, from 8 feet (2.4 meters) to 9 feet (2.7 meters) in length and weighing 450 pounds (200 kilograms). It is believed that displacers could live up to a hundred years.
