Basic Information:
Balthazar, a devil from Avernus, has spent centuries clawing his way through Hell’s brutal hierarchy. Born from the molten fires of the infernal plane, he has
always sought power and recognition, but unlike the more brutal or politically adept devils, Balthazar relies on cunning and contracts to elevate himself.
Unfortunately, despite his ambition, he’s gained a reputation as something of a failure—a devil whose plans often fall just short of true success.
His greatest hope for recognition lies in Deimus the Trickster, a mortal warlock with a talent for mischief. Sensing potential, Balthazar granted Deimus
significant power in exchange for his soul and eternal servitude. However, the relationship has proven more of a headache than a victory. Deimus, ever
the rebellious mortal, skirts the edge of their pact, offering Balthazar only just enough to maintain the bond but constantly evading full control. Each time
Balthazar materializes to demand offerings—blood sacrifices, relics, or gold—Deimus finds clever ways to stall or deflect, much to Balthazar’s growing frustration.
In Avernus, these missteps have made Balthazar a laughingstock among his infernal peers, who mock his inability to fully subjugate his warlock. Though his schemes
have yet to succeed, Balthazar’s ambition never wavers. He remains determined that Deimus, despite the mortal’s tricks, will eventually be the key to his rise.
Every failure only deepens his resolve to one day prove his worth and claim a higher place among Hell’s elite.
Relentlessly, Balthazar continues to manipulate Deimus from the shadows, convinced that with enough persistence, his schemes will one day bear fruit. Until then,
he remains a devil on the brink—mocked but undeterred, always scheming for his moment of triumph.
